I made this so that real-life people can read my musings without having to trawl through my online group journals and being affronted by swearing, or overwhelmed by fanfiction references which make no sense to anybody but Vampire Chronicles geeks. Or discovering unflattering remarks about themselves. ;) Maybe more people will get blogs and we can keep in touch this way.

Still here!

I thought I should post something so that it would be obvious I hadn't just forgotten this thing was here, particularly since I've finally remembered to give a couple of people the link. Already remember why I hate the text-sizing tools on here so much. It's nice to be home. ;)

I didn't know it was so long since I'd updated...

Anyway, this is where we're at. I'm trying to clear a lot of stuff out of my room so I can redecorate. I've bought bits and pieces already since I have my colourscheme in mind, but I don't feel like planning seriously until I know how much space I have to move furniture into during the paint/wallpaper-stripping phase.

Rem is trying to find a job here, with a view to moving in August. Transporting his books alone is... logistically interesting... but absolutely necessary. It's hard not to love someone who settles into a new place by arranging the books. It's probably what I'd do first, too... in fact, come to think of it, anytime I've been in hospital or on holiday, there's always been a very necessary stack of books next to the bed.

In the attempt to get rid of a lot of my own books (and Mum's), I've been doing a lot of BookCrossing. Twenty-four books released in the wild this week alone... somewhat mitigated by getting eight in trade at an international meetup, and buying nine more between us in charity shops. Oh dear...

Well, that's encouraging...

So I hit the button for creating my new blog. Then I hit the button for viewing it. "The blog you were looking for cannot be found on this server." This raises profound existential questions like, do you exist if your blog disappears the moment you create it? And, would this have happened if I'd used one of the many LiveJournal clones?

Let's find out what happens if I publish this post...
